Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and often stylized with uppercase letters in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is an album released in May 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the music press and bloggers. The singer has recorded two high-profile covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video that she supported Runaway. This brought her some recognition. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano in her basement, and bewildered by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather than as a job. Thus, she began her own compositions. Her sources include noted authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her affinity with Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her songs in public, not in order to achieve fame, but rather to let others know the importance of their work and how they can make a difference for the world. She was suggested by her mother to be able to perform her music publicly in order so that people can see the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. Her family didn't know until the age of fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. As she says, she simply loves writing music. She claims that music is her favorite way to feel anything.
